Mutapa reigns supreme! Got all of Africa, a good chunk of the Middle East, Portugal didn’t exist by the time the clock hit midnight on 12/31/1499 (no slavery for you, fuckers, courtesy of AFRICA) and the entire Caribbean, and what you can see in the second and third maps is Mutapan South America, Central America and North America. No European powers get jack shit. Castille has been kept busy by me constantly warring with them for their African territories and agitating in Gaul (I think it’s off the last screenshot a bit, but Gaul is its own thing like Asterix and Obelix were runnin’ the show, next-door neighbours to Mutapan Portugal in takin’ a chunk out of Castille).

But take special note: I fund revolutionaries around the globe off of my massive trade empire, and the “British” isles are a good case study. Ireland is united, and England has never owned more than a single province of it in my entire game, and that’s only because in the earliest 1399 start date the game offers you, they start with one. Leinster got shit down with Mutapan aid money behind them, and kicked England (and later France?!) off of the Emerald Isle to unite the entire shit-show into an independent Ireland by the turn of the 16th century. Scotland came rampaging down with Mutapan money overflowing in their coffers and smashed through the North of England while France pounded Kent and Wessex (or was it Essex?) from underneath, smashing up into Oxfordshire. Meanwhile, Cornwall became independent only to be grabbed by Castille (FUCK YOU CASTILLE) and Wales grabbed a couple provinces as England became three fragmented, isolated, provinces, separated by Scotland, France and Castille…of course Scotland started getting too big for their fuckin’ britches and tried to deprive Wales and Cornwall of their independence (which is why Castille even got a piece, because my Cornish brothers were weakened from Scottish assault)…so I decided to fund Northumberland nationalists, and now Norway has taken the Orkneys (back again). LET THAT BE A LESSON TO YOU, SCOTLAND. YE KIN TAEK THAIR LAIVZ BIT YE KIN NEVARR TAEK THAIR FRRRRREEEDOOOMM (not while Mutapa is on global freedom watch).

Not pictured: Achaea and Morea are uni-province holdouts in the face of Venice and the Ottoman Empire taking over most of Greece because of my fundage, and Pskov, Finland and the independent Isle of Gotland are putting up major resistance to Swedish expansion. Pskov. Seriously. Also, the Reformation started about three years later than in the real world and centred around someone who wasn’t Martin Luther…in Pskov. Pskov. Seriously. Also, the German Peasants’ Wars didn’t happen and the Counter-Reformation started in 1522 (after these screenshots) instead of 1545.

But alas, R.I.P. Mutapa…the laptop I was playing on got a hard drive corruption while I was trying to sell (for 0 ducats, so basically just giving for free) the recently ceded territories (ceded by France in a war that gained Mutapa their entire North coast) of Kent, Wessex (or was it Essex?) and Oxfordshire to Wales, and now that save file is forever lost…the Mutapan Empire died as it lived…giving help to the little guy.

The next step was gonna be selling (for 0 ducats) the South-Westerly French provinces to Aragon. I had Castille release every province of the ex-Kingdom of Aragon and now Aragon lives again as a thorn in Castille’s side, and I thought, “Why not give ‘em a little bit of my French victory spoils?” but now…that is just a faded dream…
